CALDER FOLK MUSIC MICRO COMMISSIONS NOW LIVE!

CALDER FOLK is an illustration installation project inspired by the folklore and place legends of the Upper Calder Valley.

This project will involve the creation of five temporary illustrated installations in unexpected outdoor spaces across the Upper Calder Valley by Todmorden based artist Michael Powell, working in partnership with Northern Earth Magazine and Hebden Bridge Folk and Roots Festival.

As part of this project we’re on the lookout for 5 musicians or musical groups to create audio works in response to the artworks and places associated with them.

It is preferable that the musicians commissioned will be situated within the Calder Valley region, or have links to the area.

These works will be presented on each artwork via a QR code for people to experience the works in situ with the piece, on partner's websites and also showcased as part of an event run by Hebden Bridge Folk and Roots Festival at and around the Trades Club in Hebden Bridge.

We would like the work delivered as an audio piece by 1 August 2021 and that you are available to perform the work at the event run by Hebden Bridge Folk and Roots Festival in October 2021.

This is a freelance role paid at a fixed fee of £600 inclusive of expenses.
